The role is within LB GmbH Marktfolge area and extracts insights from data to drive informed decisions and improve processes for regulatory reporting and taxes for LBG in DE and NL. The role will report to the Head of Regulatory Reporting, Tax and Financial Control based in Berlin. The successful colleague will need to work very closely with both Group and Business Unit Finance team.
Your tasks
- Develop and maintain data-driven solutions to support regulatory reporting obligations and tax-related evaluations.
- Analyze and interpret complex data structures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with departments such as Credit Risk, Compliance, Data, and IT to optimize data processes with focus on regulatory reporting and taxes
- Support the automation and digitalization of reporting processes.
- Ensure data quality and consistency in regulatory and tax-related reports.
- Design data models to reflect tax and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and optimize ETL processes for data preparation from various source systems.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and create dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS239, CRR, ESG, DAC6).
- Document data flows and analytical processes in accordance with internal and external audit standards.
- Perform gap analyses and derive actionable recommendations for data improvement.
- Demonstrate effective and collaborative working relationships with a wide number of management, finance and risk colleagues
- Perform implementation and enhancement within initiatives in regulatory reporting, data and risk management
Your knowledge/experience
- Master degree in Data Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of Data Science, ideally within a financial or tax-related environment.
- Very good proficient in SQL, Python, or R, along with experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in German and English
- Good Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the financial sector (e.g., Bundesbank, ECB, EBA; Tax authorities).
- Experience with tax-related / regulatory reporting data and its processing (is an advantage).
- Good Knowledge of database architectures and data warehousing concepts.
- Good experience working in interdisciplinary teams, such as Tax, Regulatory Reporting, and IT.
- Very Good analytical and conceptual skills
- Very good skills in Excel, Word and Power Point
- Ideally skills and experience using regulatory reporting/ tax reporting software
- Proactive, enthusiastic & motivated team player
