The role is within the Berlin Finance area and responsible for internal and external reporting activities with a main focus on leading the IFRS and FINREP group reporting which includes managing the group accountant in the quarterly reporting process as well as providing technical guidance and supporting ECB readiness workstreams.
Your tasks
- Strengthen Finance Data Governance and Drive Process Automation to support ECB readiness initiatives: Lead initiatives to improve Finance data governance and automate key Finance processes in support of ECB supervisory expectations. This includes documenting data lineage, managing metadata, implementing data quality controls, and streamlining reporting workflows to enhance transparency, reliability, and auditability across Finance to ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239 and other ECB requirements.
- Lead Monthly and Quarterly Group Reporting: Oversee LBG Group reporting for all Lloyds Bank GmbH business units, including data enrichment, review, and sign-off in group systems, ensuring compliance with IFRS and FINREP and intercompany elimination. Resolve any reporting issues.
- Manage Quarter-End Close and Provide Technical Guidance: Own quarter-end reporting activities and provide expert support to group accountants on technical matters. Review General Ledger journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Evaluate Reporting Framework Changes: Assess changes to the group reporting framework and actively participate in relevant LBG working groups.
- Provide input to projects: Support projects (new products, new systems etc. ) that require Finance input including impact assessments on Finance processes and accounting treatment as well as setup of accounting infrastructure.
- Lead Financial Control Activities: Drive implementation and enhancement of Financial Control processes in line with Group standards, including support for accounting policy and procedure development.
- Lead Finance Governance Activities: Manage governance topics such as risk and control self-assessments, end-user computing files, policy gap analyses, and process documentation.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with colleagues locally and across Europe to deliver reporting outputs, building strong and effective working relationships.
Your knowledge/experience
- Bachelor degree with focus on IFRS / HGB accounting, audit and group accounting or equivalent
- Several years of working experience in an accounting, audit or group accounting role
- Excellent accounting skills in an IFRS / HGB environment
- Experience of intercompany consolidation and reporting
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Very good skills in Excel and Word
- Ideally strong accounting software skills including Oracle Fusion / other consolidation systems
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English (German is a plus)
